Old Business
- Parliamentarian election
Bobby Ritchie moved to elect James by acclimation.
Kim Slattery seconded.
James elected.
- Constitutional amendments taken from the table.
Bobby asked what they did.
Susie explained that the first will give the money from the RHA account to the hall senates and the second will allow the executive board to make necessary amendments to the constitution over breaks to be later approved by the general body.
Chris-ratification happens when we return? (Yes.)
Bobby asked how the dollar amount was determined. It was explained that the amount of money in the account will be divided by the number of students living on-campus. Each senate will receive the money for each student living in their complex.
Jimmy asked if residents in the apartments were included, which they are.
Called to question by Kim Slattery.
Motion passed.
New Business
- Ryle Hall Renovation Plans
- May take out middle wall in front of cafeteria and have it go directly in with open seating, front desk there as well.
Bobby – cool arrangement with seating open
Kiosks by front door.
Mail moved near front door.
Mike – seating issues – all-you-can-eat and people not swiping to be there—issues with Sodexho.
Katherine – will mail make area too congested?
- Multi-Purpose area off of main lounge next to potential game room, TV room
Kendall – air hockey?
Jimmy – closed-off TV room is a bad idea—creepy things may happen
Elevator in front of lounge
- Sound issue in front of main lounge à glass wall or curved wall to fence off area for programs
Sharon – glass wall
Brooke – curved wall
- Private dining room will become two smaller rooms with glass walls – opaque, clear glass?
Random strips of opacity?
Opaque glass
Would hold 20 people comfortably
Ryle rooftop garden? Bobby – cool
Chris – safety
Matt – entrance draining on sidewalk?
Jimmy – is Sodexho paying for dining room? (no, but another company is working on that)
- Central area of building would be done during summer
- (Returning to the issue of the garden) The rooftop garden will purportedly be “Willy Wonka” magical.
