Danielle Noring – Heartland ConferenceCan use volunteers from Friday afternoon to late Saturday, any amount of time; give her your e-mail address if you are interested in helping (sign-up sheet went around)Heartland is conference for student advisors

Officer Reports
Vice President (Regina Rodgers):: Had first committee meeting on Tuesday went fairly well... details provided in programming report. Presidents of senates...I need you all to get a list of people who would be willing to be guides to your hall you can either hand it to me next week at the meeting or email it to me. Had a great time at the pre retreat and is excited about MACURH.
Secretary (Kim Slattery):mail, attendance; brag bag: let’s lean toward congratulatory statements in the brag bag; will be leaving next semester and will have a letter of resignation soon, effective at the end of the semester
Treasurer (Chris Walters):will start giving balance every meeting (or monthly), but has to balance the checkbook so doesn’t have one yet; Halloween care packages coming soon; needs payment of 72.07 (?) from delegates by October 30
NCC (Kim Heitzman):pre-retreat went amazing, got a lot of work done and had a good time; MACURH delegation theme is Willy Wonka; have decided on a banner idea; other ideas will be decided by Saturday; e-mails due to me by Friday; have checks to Chris by Thursday 10/30
Webmaster (Katherine Tynan): New Website Design is up!! Applied for MySQL access from ITS so that we can have a forum on the site.
Advisors (John Gardner and Emily Haupt): Yay, new faces!
NRHH (Craig Deken):none
Student Senate: (Kim Slattery)not much happened; annual president’s roundtable coming up
Facilities: met Wednesday before midterm break; talked about how renovations are going, things that need to be kept up
President: made folders for RHA with constitution, standing rules, and ParliPro cheat sheet; submitted FAC application for All-Hall Ball; hearing on 10/25 at 1PM; submitted ID numbers for roster; second president’s roundtable last night

Hall Reports
Blanton-Nason-Brewer Hall: talked about Haunted House, have a really cool flyer, need people to work the Haunted House, Saturday at 1:30 to set up, to be in it, need name and e-mail, October 24th at 8 and October 31st at 8
Centennial Hall: talked about Halloween plans as well, have haunted house like last year with maze, do tours; brainstormed list of post-Halloween plans; cotton candy for Reading Day?
Grim Hall: Popcorn, [], and Politics program on Friday; Capture the Flag on Sunday at 8PM; working on t-shirts and Halloween
Missouri Hall:working on Halloween; passed a motion to give each house 15 dollars for decorations; pumpkin carving on 30th, doing a really cool election night party in the Chariton Room (will have a map of US on glass and color in as states are called); cardboard “bus” to SUB for voters
Ryle Hall:planned games for Halloween; JoEllen came to discuss some Student Senate issues; Mr. and Mrs. Ryle on November 8th at 3PM in the main lounge; brainstormed some initial ideas for the event; Food Drive House competition is currently underway; probably having pumpkin decorating before Halloween
West Campus Suites: initiated WCS newsletter last week; e-mail editor to get it; doing a scavenger hunt in mid-November

Old Business

  • T-Shirts:
    we should get them, looking at on-campus organization or Printex; using design from last year; Chris will get prices from Printex; (this was a dead-end Old Business item—nothing really happened with it, but t-shirts are happening)

New Business

  • Standing Rule Revisions
    • fix mistakes
    • put President’s report first
    • will have formal amendment/motion next week
  • Oktoberfest – letter asking for volunteers, organizers, donations; ResLife Fun and Spirit committee; $1 for a cup for unlimited root beer; October 24th from 4-7 on the quad; 1st 250 people get a sign for $1; music, games, root beer-chugging; committee wanted to get another keg of root beer ($130) possibly; need maybe some people serving food; Regina will ask Justin what help is needed and will get back to Susie or Kim S.
  • Campus Safety Committee – meeting on Tuesday; set goals for this year; talked about things from last year; purpose is to evaluate safety on campus; talking to contractors to get lights put back up in Red Barn (Point of Information: they’re back up); putting lights up in parking lot and an emergency phone in parking lot between Centennial and Barnett; drills in academic buildings; Emergency Response Guides should be up in all classrooms (but not in BH303…apparently…); hired new DPS officer; DPS officers can now respond to Kirksville calls, but shouldn’t affect response on campus – won’t really respond to things outside the campus limits; if you have questions, let Chris know after meeting

Committee Reports

  • Programming: meeting was great; if you are interested in joining programming...please, PLEASE email Regina!! Or go to the meetings on Tuesdays at 4:30 in CH Main Lounge; have planned the rest of the semester of activities that they will be doing; for Thanksgiving, have decided to have a turkey in the sub—people can write what they are thankful for on the feathers and they will hang them up on the turkey; have decided to have MDT this semester on December 10th (Reading Day); will need volunteers who would be willing to be actors; Yay!!
  • Internal Affairs:there will be a committee meeting after full body meeting, care packages, people should join
  • Residential Affairs:open forum for Ryle Cafeteria renovations on Tuesday, October 21 from 6PM-8PM in BH Little Theatre, invited about 20 administrators; everyone should read the article in the Index; working on a resolution for blenders

Announcements

  • October 28th (Tuesday) – debates for US Congressional seat 5:45 to 6:45 (doors open and close) and starts at 7
  • Capture the Flag – Sunday at 8, Red Barn Park
  • October 28th – 2PM to 5PM bike registration on the quad
  • Fun and Spirit committee – Women’s Soccer at noon on Saturday, Football at 2 o’clock; student cheering section established at last game and was expanded
  • School of Business Barbecue 12:30PM on Saturday, Violette Hall Parking Lot
  • SA applications for spring go out next week
  • Saturday – Scottish Games start at Rotary Park at 10AM
