Officer Reports
Vice President (Regina Rodgers):: had another programming meeting, which was pretty amazing; meetings are Tuesdays at 4:30 in C-Hall main lounge, if anyone new is interested in coming; preparations for Mystery Dessert Theatre underway—have the script and only three of the necessary seven cast members (all from programming committee); if you are interested, sign up on the sheet with name and email address; Halloween is coming up; Kat suggests contacting Intro to Theatre people if more actors are needed
Secretary (Kim Slattery):things are going around; e-mailed presidents about attendance—if you didn’t get the e-mail, let her know
Treasurer (Chris Walters):not in attendance; Halloween care packages here, will be distributed next week; getting orders ready for care packages; looking into prices for t-shirts
NCC (Kim Heitzman):had the delegation meeting on Monday, which went very well; all are excited to start getting stuff done; everything has been decided except for the color of the t-shirts; two weeks until conference (!!!); will be learning cheers and spirit-y stuff at next meeting and bonding over lunch November 2nd; delegation needs to give outstanding payment to Chris
Webmaster (Katherine Tynan): members section updated with names of each hall’s representatives —if Banner ID was given to us, you’re on the site; officers’ e-mail addresses linked; if anyone has a problem with their information on the website, let her know; new pictures up; website has some Halloween spirit
Advisors (John Gardner and Emily Haupt): no report
NRHH (Craig Deken):no report
Student Senate: (Kim Slattery)athletic director came and discussed athletic fee and Stokes; discussed conduct code revisions; President’s Roundtable
President: FAC Hearing for MDT on Saturday at 1; Hall Senate Exec Workshop on Sunday, 6-8PM; won’t be having office hours on Tuesday—travelling to Columbia; folders finished and will have standing rules after revisions; Leader of the Week awards for Kim Heitzman, Katherine Tynan, and Tiffany Mooney

Hall Reports
Blanton-Nason-Brewer Hall:went down to basement and taped cardboard to ground and garbage bags on walls; need more cardboard; tomorrow at 9 and next Friday; 1 dollar
Centennial Hall: thaunted house and maze in the lounge for Halloween
Grim Hall: finalizing Halloween ideas—Halloween party
Missouri Hall:Halloween; decorating, Zac reading Halloween stories in Chariton Room; piano concerns – restricted hours in short term, forum soon
Ryle Hall:worked on Halloween stuff; finalizing Mr. and Mrs. Ryle
West Campus Suites: started Loungin’ in the Lounge on Wednesday; Halloween edition of newsletter next week; November scavenger hunt

Old Business

  • T-Shirts:
    indicate size on attendance sheet; design going around
  • Oktoberfest:
    set-up starts at 2 tomorrow; won’t need rain site—under big tent; if anyone is interested in setting up, they should go help

New Business

  • Standing Rule Revisions
    • Section XVI: Officer Terms of Office
      B) The Treasurer Elect and the National Communications Coordinator will serve from the time of their election in November or early December and will serve until the end of the next Spring Semester, at which time they will assume the positions of Treasurer and National Communications Coordinator.
      Change to: “The Treasurer and the National Communications Coordinator In-Training…”

      2. The President’s report is the final report given before entering senate reports.

    Suggested that the second amendment involve removing clause instead of changing content; motion to table, seconded, motion passed
  • Blender Resolution:

    The Residence Hall Association


    A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF LEGALIZING THE USE AND RIGHT OF OWNING BLENDERS


    WHEREAS the Residence Hall Association is charged with representing the academic, social, and residential goals of residents in all forums,

    WHEREAS the electrical system of all renovated residence halls has been recently updated or will be updated as renovations continue,

    WHEREAS “smoothie machines” are allowed in the residence halls that have already been updated, and are extremely similar to blenders in their machinery and use,

    WHEREAS at this time there is demand for the ability to own and use blenders from the current residents of renovated residence halls,

    THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the Residence Hall Association, request that the University allow residents of newly renovated residence halls with the electrical capacity to own and use blenders.

Committee Reports

  • Programming:have heard from BNB and Grim about guides, would like to hear from other halls; would like a list of guides from senates; Halloween is approaching—get pumped about hall decorations and trick or treating!; thanks to those who signed up for MDT, will be getting back to you soon; MDT will start meeting after the MACURH conference (November 9th)
  • Internal Affairs:talked about fundraisers and care packages last week; people should join
  • Residential Affairs:had the open forum; decided to have a survey about Ryle Hall Cafeteria

Announcements

  • Oktoberfest tomorrow 4-7PM; first 250 people get all-you-can-drink root beer for $1 and a stein ; Facebook group; should sign up for team
  • Humans v. Zombies – 300 people (biggest so far!), also fastest game: day two, currently 50% zombies; thanks for support
  • 10:30PM-2AM Centennial Hall Puppy Chow Sale on Friday and Saturday
