Officer Reports
Vice President (Regina Rodgers):Another programming meeting on Tuesday; low attendance; will need a lot of help in the near future; see Regina if you want to join; if you can’t make meetings (member or hopeful member), let Regina know; MACURH is coming up and, therefore, program ideas are coming!
Secretary (Kim Slattery):Thanks to everyone who sent a report! Reports are short paragraphs or series of somewhat detailed bullet-points that outline what your oral report will be/was about; brag bag and attendance going around; forgot mail in room, but basically, the turf is ready and available to be reserved
Treasurer (Chris Walters):Halloween care packages being delivered; needs to see people who are helping deliver after the meeting; needs money for MACURH!!! - $36.45 is 1/3; deadline extended to next week’s meeting
NCC (Kim Heitzman):MACURH is approximately 7 days, 19 hours away; t-shirts are ordered and will be here by Wednesday; delegation members working on their tasks; money is due to Chris tonight
Webmaster (Katherine Tynan): Website now is in valid HTML (meets standards for websites to ensure that they can be viewed correctly on any computer); Halloween winners will be up by Monday at latest
Advisors (John Gardner and Emily Haupt): Mid-year SA applications available 6 advisors being hired
NRHH (Craig Deken):OTMs due on Nov. 5th – anyone who has done something great or anything great that has happened can basically be
Student Senate: (Kim Slattery)accepting applications for Senator at Large on the website; still looking for Campus Health Director (Senate position); emergency response guides to be distributed to students by campus mail in near future; Conduct Code forum on Wed., November 12, from 5-7PM in the Student Enrollment Complex
President: FAC hearing on Saturday, which went well, and we should know if we get funding in the next couple of weeks; leader/”liter” of the week is Ryan Brinkman

Hall Reports
Blanton-Nason-Brewer Hall:figured out how to do t-shirt orders (diner-themed); Haunted House at 9PM on Halloween; figuring out how much they’ve made; recycle bins going out next week sometime; posting big, laminated channel guides in lounges
Centennial Hall: talked about haunted houses; inter-house contests started today for Halloween decorating
Grim Hall: hall decorating and party; penny wars start Saturday; Thankful for Grim dinner a few weeks later; design, colors, etc. for t-shirts
Missouri Hall:Haunted Houses in house lounges; Zac Burden telling stories for trick-or-treaters; canned food drive starting next Tuesday/Election Day, running from November 3 to 17 – “can your SA” (fill SA’s room with cans) and to keep track of votes; will be donated to SERVE Center’s Big Week of Giving; election party on Tuesday
Ryle Hall:finalized Halloween plans; designed trophy for winner of Ryle Cup Challenge; continuing to work on Mr. and Mrs. Ryle on Nov. 8 at 3PM
West Campus Suites:scavenger hunt in mid-November; Halloween edition of newsletter will go out tomorrow; started Post Secret in WCS; having a silent auction

      B) The Treasurer Elect and the National Communications Coordinator will serve from the time of their election in November or early December and will serve until the end of the next Spring Semester, at which time they will assume the positions of Treasurer and National Communications Coordinator.

  • Blender Resolution:

    The Residence Hall Association


    A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF LEGALIZING THE USE AND RIGHT OF OWNING BLENDERS


    WHEREAS the Residence Hall Association is charged with representing the academic, social, and residential goals of residents in all forums,

    WHEREAS the electrical system of all renovated residence halls has been recently updated or will be updated as renovations continue,

    WHEREAS “smoothie machines” are allowed in the residence halls that have already been updated, and are extremely similar to blenders in their machinery and use,

    WHEREAS at this time there is demand for the ability to own and use blenders from the current residents of renovated residence halls,

    THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the members of the Residence Hall Association, request that the University allow residents of newly renovated residence halls with the electrical capacity to own and use blenders.

  • Elections for NCC-IT, Treasurer Elect, and Secretary announced: will be December 4th

Committee Reports

  • Programming:Halloween is tomorrow; tonight after meeting, committee will be hanging up door decs for handing out candy; see her if you want to help; over 250 people signed up to give out candy!; guides need to be in main lounge AT 6 PM; decorating contest!; everything needs to be done before 5PM on Halloween; two organizations got back to Regina on doing Halloween activities but won’t be able to help—all senates’ job; purchased script for MDT, and it’s amazing; first meeting will be Nov. 10 to get everything together
  • Internal Affairs:need more members; care packages
  • Residential Affairs:wrote questions for survey about Ryle Hall cafeteria, sent to Andrea O’Brien

Announcements

  • Chris needs to see people who helped with care packages to plan the remaining deliveries
  • HvZ is over!!!
  • The election is on Tuesday!!! (just in case you didn’t know)
  • Grim Hall Assassins is still going!!!
